It was a very good experience in exchanging case studies and lesson-learnt with National Rail Operator of Indonesia, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero). Such workshop is designed to provide the participants with generic theory of Railway Systems Engineering and Railway RAMS Management in conjunction with their implementation in real railway business.
Participants were coming from various department at PT KAI such as Freight Service Department, Rolling Stock Maintenance Department, Infrastructure Maintenance Department, Safety Operation Department and Occupational Health and Safety Environment Department with the background ranging from Junior Manager level up to Vice President.
Question & Answer
Participants
Based on the feedback forms, we can conclude that nearly 90% of the participants have never heard about Systems Engineering and RAMS Management before and more than 94% agreed that such engineering discipline will assist them in improving the dependability of the railway systems and hence the business. Nonetheless, we found out that there was an expectation gap within. The participants were so eager to tackle issues concerning with their railway systems and assets, yet we believe that it could have taken more than three days to fully apply Systems Engineering and RAMS Management approach on real cases.
Overall, the workshop was done successfully and we look forward to the follow-up session!
